If you have a GPS unit, dial in the settings (right) for the headquarter's building parking lot. If you do not have a GPS unit and need help to find the meeting site, please read on. | GPS Coordinates |
Unless stated elsewhere on this Web site, the monthly meetings are normally held on the second Saturday of the month at 10 a.m.
Unless specifically stated elsewhere, the monthly meetings are held in the auditorium of the refuge's headquarters building. The building, on the refuge property, is located approximately 400 feet southeast of the intersection of East Great Creek Road and East Lily Lake Road (see arrow, right); the intersection is just outside of the refuge grounds with its gated entrance. The Refuge Headquarters/Auditorium building is on the right side of the roadway. If you procede to or past the cash box for payment of admission to the grounds to the wildlife trail, you have driven past our meeting location.
The traffic light at the intersection of US 9 and East Great Creek Road (left) is an easy landmark to find. Turn east, toward the rising sun, to enter the refuge grounds. This picture is taken as one drives south on US 9.
If the vagularities of computers and the Internet continue to work, this hybrid map and satellite photograph has the auditorium right in the center of the image. Back out of the map scale to see the rest of the story. A Wildlife Drive map, prepared by the refuge staff, has the "Refuge Headquarters and Auditorium" shown in the inset at the bottom of the page.
Are you coming from afar? Follow the written directions prepared by the refuge staff or use the map, by Yahoo (right). |
An aside. If you use Google Earth — Mac or Windows — e-mail me, using the link below, for a Forsythe placemark placing you about 6 miles (9.5 kilometers) above the surface of the planet.
